Abstract

A 21-acre marsh that feeds in to the Androscoggin River became a holding tank for 15,000 of the 63,000 gallons of jet fuel which leaked from a depot at the Brunswick Naval Air Station. Cleanup crews had recovered 12,00 gallons of the spilled fuel, with another 30,000 unaccounted for. Related story.
