Abstract

Apportionment Commission members traded proposals for realigning Maine's political boundaries in an effort to meet the deadline, which passed with no final plan on the books. If no plan is approved by the Legislature and Gov. John McKernan, the redistricting would be turned over to the Maine Supreme Judicial Court.
