Abstract

The Maine Low-Level Radioactive Waste Authority may further narrow the list of sites being considered for a low-level nuclear waste dump, if it decides to use non-technical cirteria such as community reaction in its decision-making process. Six sites are being considered for the facility, including the Maine Yankee nuclear power plant in Wiscasset, which is responsible for most of the state's low-level nuclear waste.
