Abstract

The Apportionment Commission voted 8-7 to approve a plan opposed by commision Republicans, which may touch off a new battle when the full Legislature considers the proposal affecting State Hose, state Senate and congressional districts. The plan includes a redrawn Senate of 35 districts, and needs a two-thirds majority in both houses for passage.
