Abstract

Elections among the Passamaquoddies in Indian Township saw former Governor John Stevens elected to his old post by defeating John Socabasin Sr. by a 173-81 vote. The midterm election followed a referendum last month that resulted in a no-confidence vote in the administration of Gov. Robert Newell and Lt. Gov. Basil LaC ote.
