Abstract

Plans by Harry C. Crooker & Sons to run an asphalt plant out of its 43-acre gravel pit in Whitefield on a permanent basis has many neighbors of the pit upset. The proposal would increase traffic by 250 trucks a day, and many residents wonder whether the fact that three members of the Whitefield Planning Board, which has approved the project, own or work in pits represents a conflict of interest.
