Abstract

The Maine Health Care Association, a powerful lobbying group representing 130 nursing homes, has started a campaign to inform the public about proposals by Gov. McKernan that would tighten Medicaid requirements for people entering nursing homes. At stake is up to $39 million yearly in state Medicaid funds for the nursing-home providers, and another $2 in federal money for every $1 in state funds. Related article.
