Abstract

A new proposal for developing a train station in Portland, which includes a more grandiose building design, purchase of the property to be developed instead of leasing, and another $500,000 in site work, will substantially increase the cost of construction over original estimates. Engineering and architectural expenses would push the total cost of the new proposal to over $1.2 million.
