Abstract
Pratt & Whitney Aircraft has said it will keep its North Berwick engine plant open, ending months of anxiety about the future of the facility and the 1,400 workers it employs. Company officials said the decision was based on lower production costs at the plant, and that Maine's business climate is more favorable than Connecticut's, where two of the company's plans will be shut down.
