Abstract

Municipal officials throughout the state are warning that their communities might provide no General Assistance for the poor if Gov. McKernan's proposal to eliminate $20 million in state funding for General Assistance is accepted. In fiscal year 1992, the program paid out $19.2 million of which the state reimbursed the towns nearly $16 million. Details.
