Abstract

The McKernan administration has unveiled four new plans for cuts in pension benefits for state employees and teachers designed to save the state $198 million over the next two years, but has failed to identify the plan most favored by the governor. Legislators say that there is not enough time to consider the proposals in the eight days remaining in this legislative session. Details on proposals.
