Abstract
The Maine Public Utilities Commission has tentatively ruled that cable companies should pay more to string their wires on utility poles, saying that electric and telephone companies have in effect been subsidizing cable companies which are paying less than their fair share for using the poles. Cable companies dispute that finding, and say that the ruling will mean higher costs for their customers.
