Abstract

Waste Management of Maine Inc. has proposed hauling away the trash of Regional Waste Systems communities for $80 to $100 per ton, but the board of RWS is not interested in the proposal. The trash would be hauled to the Waste Management landfill in Rochester, N.H., allowing RWS to put off building the proposed Gorham landfill and recycling center while it considers other alternatives to what many consider to be a very expensive project.
