Abstract

State transportation planners, faced with a federal mandate to decrease air emissions by 15 percent over the next three years, have proposed a truck-to-train cargo facility, park-and-ride lots and van pools to help reduce traffic-related smog in Maine. Amendments to the federal Clean Air Act of 1990 mandate efforts to improve air quality where ozone problems have been detected. List of projects.
