A consultant for the Governor's Task Force on Education Funding says a study he conducted shows that Maine spent $6,283 per student in 1991-92, compared to a national average of $5,452. Maine schools employed an average of 92 staffers per 1,000 students in 1991-92, compared to a national average of 72 staffers per 1,000 students. Details.
