Abstract

Of the roughly $1 billion in Maine exports in 1991, 91 percent went to Canada, Western Europe and the Pacific Rim. But for a growing number of Maine companies, including carageenan producer FMC Corp. of Rockland, Latin America and Southeast Asia are becoming the foreign markets with the most potential for sales.
