Abstract

South Portland's new High-Land Playland is using a thick bed of multi-colored rubber chips as a cushioning agent on the ground, but the chips have made the playground less accessible to the handicapped. Playground committee members acknowledge they have to figure out how to clear a path through the chips so wheelchairs don't bog down in them. Details.
