Abstract

The East Coast Tuna Association will pay for a study designed to tally the number of bluefin tuna in the Gulf of Maine. Nine single-engine planes will fly over the gulf, photographing the fish and documenting their locations. Tuna fishermen believe there are more tuna in the Gulf of Maine and western Atlantic than scientists say. Related article.
