Abstract

The federally-funded Summer Youth Employment Training Program is providing 250 income-eligible teenagers from Portland, South Portland and Westbrook with summer jobs in non-profit areas such as government, day-care centers and Southern Maine Technical College. A pilot program for educational enrichment has 60 of the youngsters studying while they work. Details.
