Abstract

Kenneth Elliott plans to defy publicly the state's marijuana laws next Saturday at a rally in Brunswick co-sponsored by Maine Vocals, a Madison-based organization fighting to legalize marijuana as a recreational and medicinal drug, and the Business Alliance for Commerce in Hemp, which wants to see the plant used as a textile product. Elliott, who suffers from an injured back, hopes to be taken to court where he can argue for the medicinal use of marijuana, which, he says, relieves his back pain.
