Abstract

The grand opening of the state's first off-track betting parlor was held yesterday at John Martin's Manor in Waterville. The establishment will have to generate $60,000 to $65,000 a week to break even. Within two hours of closing Sunday night, the establishment had taken in a $20,000 handle.
