Abstract
A $55,670 study conducted by Wright-Pierce Engineers of Topsham for the Portland Water District has shown that water from Sebago Lake is corrosive and leaches lead from lead-soldered pipes. The study recommends raising and stabilizing the water pH levels to control the corrosion, which can lead to lead poisoning in a small percentage of homes. Details.
