Abstract

A Maine Department of Labor official said that as much as five percent of the people claiming unemployment benefits in the state are doing so fraudulently, and only one in five of them are being caught. The state caught 623 people illegally claiming benefits in 1992, while duiring the first half of 1993 it caught 621 people doing so. Details.
