Abstract

With Maine's forest fire season approaching, the state's Forest Service will increase patrols in some areas to prevent against arson, one of the most common causes of forest fires. Of last year's 761 forest fires in Maine, 165 were deliberately set, burning 12,000 acres of wildlands.
