Abstract

Barbara A. Anastosopoulos of North Waterboro has filed suit against two doctors under the state's so-called wrongful birth/wrongful life statute, claiming the two were negligent in allowing her to give birth to a son who was later diagnosed with the AIDS virus. Named as defendants in the suit are Dr. Charles Perakis of Scarborough and Dr. Albert Pollard of Sanford, who Anastosopoulos alleged should have had her tested for AIDS because the two knew of her high-risk lifestyle.
