Abstract

State representative Herbert C. Adams, president of the Longfellow Statue Association, announced that the group has raised enough money to have Henry Lie, conservator for the Center for Conservation and Technical Services at Harvard University's Art Museums, restore the 7-foot bronze statue of Henry Wadsworth Longfellow which sits in Portland's Longfellow Square. Adams hopes to have the restoration complete by the 105th anniversary of the statue on September 29. Details.
