Abstract

Area tow truck operators are opposed to a proposal from Portland Mayor Anne Pringle which would relax the city's current rules regarding towing. The current law allows a driver to get his car back free of charge if he or she arrives before the wheels are off the ground, and the mayor would like to see the rule changed so that the driver can retrieve the vehicle even if it is just about to be hauled away.
