Abstract

Scott Westfall of West Brookville, who caught the first Atlantic salmon of the season, has eaten the fish rather than wait any longer on a reply from the Clinton White House to accept the salmon. The tradition of giving the first salmon taken from the Penobscot River each spring to the president dates back to the Taft administration.
