Abstract
Lewiston, Richmond and Norway are three Maine communities experimenting with community policing, a concept which involves police departments working more closely with local residents to prevent and solve crime. One official with the Maine Department of Public Safety believes that community policing will eventually become the preferred way of doing police work in the state. Details, related article.
