Abstract

A Westbrook School Department official said that the refusal of the city council to give tax-exempt status to the School Department's lighting and heating conservation lease-purchase plan could cost $80,000 during the next year. The plan involved a five-year, $360,676 lease-purchase agreement with GE Capital Public Finance Inc., but the low interest rate was contingent upon receiving tax-exempt status. Details.
