Abstract

Kurt's Sausage USA Inc., a subsidiary of a Canadian sausage manufacturer, is one example of the success that Maine economic development officials have had in attracting Canadian businesses to the state. Maine decided in 1991 to focus its limited foreign business-attraction efforts on the Canadian Maritimes, and has been rewarded for doing so with the six or so Canadian businesses which have invested in the state during that time.
