Abstract

Trustees of the University of Maine System agreed to seek authorization to borrow $24 million through general-obligation bonds, as well as an additional $6 million for improvements and renovations. The borrowing proposals are a result of a 5 percent reduction in spending proposed by the McKernan administration and must be endorsed by the legislature.
