Abstract

Portland Mayor Anne B. Pringle on Monday announced the formation of an anonymous group which will meet privately to develop a compromise to the proposed zoning amendments restricting group homes and transitional housing. Housing providers have claimed that the proposed restrictions amount to discrimination and bigotry, and a recent meeting involving providers, city officials and councilors was described as tense.
