Abstract

Two reports to the Land Use Regulation Commission prepared by the consulting firm Land and Water Associates of Hallowell have found that most development taking place in the North Woods is occuring on lakes and ponds, and is being undertaken for the most part by Mainers. The studies examined nearly 1,000 of the 8,600 building, zoning, development and subdivision permits issued in the North Woods since LURC was formed in 1971. Details.
