Abstract

Maranacook Community School in Readfield and Mount Desert Island High School are the only two schools in Maine which currently make condoms available to students. Allowing students access to condoms is a highly controversial issue that other schools, such as Portland and Auburn, are now beginning to consider. Students at Mount Desert have almost unlimited access to condoms, while Maranacook makes parental consent a prerequisite to students receiving condoms. Details, related article.
