Abstract

This year the Casco Bay Archaeological Project focused on the Basin site in Phippsburg, where 20 students participated in a dig led by University of Southern Maine professors Nathan Hamilton and Matthew Bampton. The month-long excavation and survey turned up 10,000 artifacts, the information from which has been incorporated into data from pasts digs to create a vivid picture of native life on Casco Bay four millenia ago.
