Abstract

The Paper Industry Information Office, which represents Maine's 16 paper mills, has expressed concern about the Clinton administration's proposal to curb releases of dioxin, and is evaluating the projected financial impact of the proposal. The federal Environmental Protection Agency has estimated the cost of compliance at $4 billion, while industry officials say it will be closer to $10 billion. Details.
