Abstract

Analysis of last week's South Portland elections, in which Julie M. Conroy, a powerful and controversial member of the school board, was defeated in her bid for re-election. Some observers say the election has seriously eroded City Councilor Kevin J. Glynn's power base. Only 5,090 of the city's 17,791 voters, or 29 percent, turned out. Details.
