Abstract

North Yarmouth Academy is using a new tool for teaching, the so-called Harkness table, which allows students and teacher to sit shoulder to shoulder and look each other in the eye. The tables were made famous at Phillips Exeter Academy in New Hampshire, and are used to stimulate debate and break down the invisible wall between students and instructors. Details.
