Abstract

George J. Kourpias, president of the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers, on Tuesday spoke to thousands of workers at Bath Iron Works about the benefits of the shipyard's new labor-management pact. Duane Fitzpatrick, BIW's chief executive officer, issued the invitation for Kourpias to speak about the pact, which was signed last spring and is described as a partnership in decision-making.
