Abstract

U.S. agriculture officials yesterday declared 14 of Maine's 16 counties to be disaster areas because of crop damage caused by unseasonable weather last year. The state's potato crop was the worst in 30 years. Only Lincoln and Waldo counties escaped the declaration.
