Abstract

A decline in property values in Portland could result in the city receiving a larger share of state school subsidies if and when the state returns to its traditional funding formula. Portland's valuation fell 7.7 percent, or more than $334 million, which could mean an increase in state subsidies from the current level of $4.46 million to an estimated $9.88 million. Details, including state estimates of property values for southeastern counties.
