Abstract

Record low temperatures hit the state on Sunday, with some areas showing a reading of minus 38-degrees Fahrenheit. Portland recorded a reading of minus 16 degrees, breaking the old record for the date, which was minus 9, set in 1948. It was the coldest temperature recorded in the city since January 1984.
