Abstract

A new plan for managing Freeport's Winslow Park, the town's popular waterfront recreation area, would eliminate 44 of the park's 100 campsites during the next few years. Proponents of the plan say that reducing the number of campers using the facility would protect the resource for local residents, but critics contend the proposal violates the legal trust that established the park 40 years ago.
