Abstract

The group Concerned Maine Families, which originally proposed an outright prohibition on state or municipal gay-rights laws, has announced revisions to its proposal in order to remove legal flaws identified by the attorney general's office. The revision would strike down existing municipal ordinances but not affect future attempts in the Legislature to pass a law protecting homosexuals from discrimination.
