Abstract

A procedural vote by the Portland City Council tabled the so-called strong mayor proposal until a scheduled March 8 workshop. Mayor Charles Harlow has proposed a charter change which would replace the current system with a full-time, elected mayor, a move which some councilors oppose. Details.
