Abstract

Aquaculture in Maine is maturing, with new markets, new technology and new ways to add value to the product. In 1992, about 12.9 million pounds of salmon and 600,000 pounds of trout were harvested, up more than 30 percent from 1991 and valued at close to $50 million.
