Abstract
Recent approval by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has cleared the way for the town of Scarborough to dredge about 230,000 cubic yards of sand from the Scarborough River, but a lack of funding may prevent the sand from being moved to Saco's severely eroded Camp Ellis Beach. The Corps will fund much of the project, but is waiting to see if the state and the two communities will agree to share the extra expense of moving the sand. Details.
