Abstract

A recent study conducted for the Portland Water District indicates that septic systems in the Harmon's and Long Beach areas of Standish are polluting Sebago Lake less than was earlier believed. Measurements of phosphorus entering the lake in September contradict the conclusions of a 1991 study, which suggested homes and seasonal camps along the shore were a major source of contamination.
