Abstract

James W. Bornheimer, former superintendent of hulls at New England Shipbuilding Co.'s East Shipyard in South Portland during WWII, died Monday at the age of 89. Bornheimer oversaw hull construction for many of the 266 Liberty ships built at the yard during the war.
